Transition Habitat Conservancy has been a Big Shifter client for some years, and we love our relationship with them. Their current website was completed in 2017, and they decided to update it to the latest version of Squarespace.

We collaborated closely with their staff to understand the changes they wanted to make, implemented some new functionality, and created content that more accurately conveyed their message and mission to their constituency.

APPROACH

Being already familiar with their brand, Big Shifter was able to create a set of requirements that suited their needs. We took into account the requirements that they wanted, and they had ideas from other nonprofit organizations that they wanted to mimic. Elements such as new photography, video within their hero imagery, and a dynamic stat counter were some of the changes they wanted to implement.

SOLUTION

Migrating to a new version of Squarespace is a lot like starting over but with the complexity of keeping a similar site structure, updating content, and providing a fresh look for the organization. Big Shifter worked side-by-side with Transition Habitat staff to create the site they wanted. We provided several hours of Squarespace tool training, content management methods, and industry-standard methods of presenting content without going overboard with the design features of Squarespace.

Blossom Beauty Bar is a new beauty provider in town that provides beauty consulting services to men and women in the Sheridan Wyoming area. Emilee Rohrer, owner of Blossom Beauty Bar needed a website to display her brand and messaging to go along with this newly launched venture.

We met with Emilee to understand her business and her needs for a website. We discussed her marketing and content needs and we felt that creating a website that reflected beauty and passion would be the best course.

Megan Stratford, a published writer was in midst of releasing her latest book called “Berth.” This book of poetry was about to hit the market and she needed a website up quickly that people could go to that reflected her artistry and creativity.

APPROACH

After the initial meeting with Megan, Big Shifter determined to create a website within the short proposed timeline and create a design that reflected the book’s design and the poetry found within it.

SOLUTION

Squarespace was the best solution for the scope of the project. Big Shifter set up the template and implemented branding colors, fonts, and layouts. Once the design was complete, we worked with Megan to merge the content with the design. Later on in the project, it was decided to bring the continuous line art found in the book as a design element for the website. At the last minute, for one reason or another, the domain name wasn’t available that was previously registered. We couldn’t get into the account. So we scrambled and found that megastratfor.com was available and Big Shifter quickly bought the domain for Megan and configured the website to use it. Together we worked hard and the site launched just before the release of the book.
